Shot Notes

Sylvie and I spent the better part of today at her work in Balaclava, printing our wedding invitations. And seen as we had plenty of time to kill and they happen to have a couple of strobes on site I decided to make the most of the opportunity and practice working with off camera lighting. I’ve had very little exposure (pardon the pun) to off camera lighting and can already see that I’m going to have worlds of fun exploring the many techniques and trying to refine my skill.

I wanted to isolate Sylvie on this beautiful deep red leather couch, so I set the camera at it’s maximum sync speed and f/9 to let in enough flash light to illuminate Sylvie with the strobe at camera right in a large softbox.

Great stuff. (More padding because I apparently need a longer comment.)
