Not entirely sure what made me pull the camera to my eye for this shot, but I’m generally pleased I did. Six blacked out people walking in amongst a sea of light coloured clothing… It had to be black & white, colour would not have done the frame justice.

Found this funny character while out and about in Wellington over the weekend.

The colours where a bit all over the place so I’ve decided to process as a blank and white.

Another image this morning from my home city of Wellington. I really enjoy this old M.L.C Building, with it’s distinctive colour and architecture, it has to be one of the stand outs for me in the Wellington CBD.

It’s interesting that with this framing it seems as though all the surrounding buildings are drawn to this one. To me it feels quite claustrophobic and cramped. I also enjoyed how the two complementary colours work in the frame and are quite pronounced by the lack of other strong colours.

Just had a full on, but very productive weekend in New Zealand putting together the final few touches on our up and coming wedding. In amongst all of that we did manage to get a bit of free time to wonder around the city and I got to make a few images in the city I grew up in.

I think that this photo speaks volumes about what I enjoy in photography… simplicity, lines, form, composition etc etc. It gets into the nuts and bolts of image making that I really enjoy.

This mornings post is a Self Portrait for my recent assignment at PSC.

My aim with this self portrait was to expose a side of myself that perhaps some have not seen, and to show myself as someone coming out of the unknown into a new period of learning and self exploration. Positive things on the horizon and I cannot wait for what the future holds.

Here is the third installment from my night out shooting on The Yarra.

I really enjoy late night shooting… the wait for the sun to go down then the frantic shooting to capture it at that very point and finally the long exposures that bring out life in the pitch black of the night.

Caught up with Luca from PSC on Thursday night and went down to capture some long exposures down below the Bolte Bridge. This image was taken out on an old abandoned wharf on the city side of the bridge. Quite a dodgy location and had to be weary of the place collapsing on us… But the images where worth it :)

Caught up with Luca from PSC last night and went out for a shoot under the Bolte Bridge down in Docklands. After a bit of a walk we found a hole in a fence onto an abandoned dock and made a few long exposure images of the city and this abandoned building that ran the length of the wharf we where on. Then on the way out I got down low and close to the river to take this shot of the underside of the Bolte Bridge.

Bad news about last night… broke my brand spanking new umbrella whilst taking a few strobist shots… the wind caught it and the stand and blew them over. Very annoyed! It’s kind of still usable for now, but will need to be replaced.

I’ve been talking about framing some of my images for so long now I didn’t actually think it was going to happen. But by chance we stopped at a local homeware shop today on the way home from the park and stumbled across these fantastic and cheap frame big enough to fit borderless A4 prints in them :)
