The view from the beach at the Westin Langkawi

Right… back to work I say! Had a hugely busy weekend away at my school’s weekend workshop. Learnt a lot, both from the tutor and from some of my mistakes. I think I’ll be posting some of these images soon, but I first wanted to get back on track with some of the images from the honeymoon :) This was the view from our resort!! Wonderful place, even though the beach reminds me of getting fairly badly burnt :p

This is a stick of approx. 10 images taken hand held at a fixed exposure. Very happy with the result :)

Abstract #2

Coming back to some more abstraction today with this image.

I took this from my window seat on a flight back to NZ about a month back. The colours and graduation from light to dark are wonderful to view from that hight.

Abstract #1

Occasionally I go against the grain of my ‘normal’ shooting methods and get a little abstract. This is one of those times.

I was out walking the CBD last Thursday and spotted this and just had to take the picture. I love the ripples and deep dark colours coming through.

Passing By…

There is a spot on Bourke Street I really enjoy sitting at and watching the world and people go by. I love all the little observations that you make when you are lost in your own head space… day dreaming… watching.

I really enjoyed the way the wonderfully blue sky was reflecting in the path, with a hint of warmth coming through as the dusk light started to cover the city. I also enjoyed the way the people stepping through this frame came from the warmth of the dusk light into the cool blue reflective shadows.
