Square

A little while back I’d borrowed a Hasselblad 500C/M for a couple of weeks. Given I think I’ve shot maybe 3 rolls of film in my life I was a tad worried about my ability to meter without a light meter on the subject (I had one but not a spot meter). These are a [...]

Mucking about…

We’ve been mucking about with a bit of alternate processing in class at the moment. It’s been great fun learning how to create these effects with digital files rather than having to use old cheap plastic film cameras. Although that being said I’d love to get one and experiment with one. They’re meant to be [...]

Back to the Street

So I think it’s time for me to get back to the street. I’ve got one class left until schools out for two months and I’m really looking forward to getting out and about to do some shooting for myself. My wife and I were out in the city last weekend checking out the Polish [...]

Work in Progress

Working on some new images for my folio and thought I’d share one from Friday that I quite enjoyed.

iPhone Art #2

So it’s been pretty busy lately with both parts of my next folio in their final stages (edit/select/print/mount). This has left me hardly any time to just get out onto the street and get lost with my camera. In saying this I always have my iPhone with me and enjoy using it to capture the [...]

Main Entrance

This was taken around Little India, as I mentioned in an earlier post we’d decided to walk around the area fairly early in the morning so everything was pretty deserted. So rather than making colourful images of the local markets etc I took to the architecture a little.

Crowded City

Went for a walk at lunch yesterday with my camera to make a few images. I wanted to try to capture something from a slightly different perspective. I quite liked the outcome of this image… as it represents to me, the way I feel about the city at the moment. It’s a crowded place at [...]

New Chancery Lane

Now for something completely different… This week I’m putting forward a series of images that I shot on an old 1960′s Minolta A5 Rangefinder. I excitedly handed this roll of film over to a friend at PSC to process for me last week and although I did not get many shots correctly exposed (most not [...]

Passing by…

There is a spot on Bourke Street I really enjoy sitting at and watching the world and people go by. I love all the little observations that you make when you are lost in your own head space… day dreaming… watching. I really enjoyed the way the wonderfully blue sky was reflecting in the path, [...]

Manners Mall

Not entirely sure what made me pull the camera to my eye for this shot, but I’m generally pleased I did. Six blacked out people walking in amongst a sea of light coloured clothing… It had to be black & white, colour would not have done the frame justice.
